Buck Lawrimore is a native of Charleston, S.C., where he began writing for daily newspapers at age 16. He graduated from Davidson College with a major in psychology and minor in philosophy. He worked for The Charlotte Observer as a reporter and editor after Davidson, then returned to the college to serve as Director of the News Bureau. He won national awards for his public relations work for Davidson, founded WDAV classical public radio, and taught photography as art.

Buck Lawrimore founded Lawrimore Communications Inc. in 1979 with his wife and partner Elizabeth, an award-winning designer and creative professional. After more than 40 years in business, he has shifted his focus to personal and business success coaching, as well as writing books. He continues to be active as a consultant, author and publisher through Lawrimore Creative Initiatives, LLC.
